Become a volunteer and make a lasting impact by supporting our Deaf communities!
By offering your time and skills, you can help bridge communication gaps, promote inclusivity, and empower Deaf people to fully participate in everyday life. Whether through learning sign language, advocating for accessibility, or simply offering companionship, your efforts can make a world of difference. Join us and be part of a movement that fosters connection, understanding, and positive change.
Anyone can apply to become a Volunteer…
We welcome applicants who are Deaf, Hearing or Hard of Hearing. You may have a friend or family member, who is Deaf or you may be learning sign language and just want to improve your signing skills.
We need volunteers who have a variety of skills and interests to support MSDP in a number of ways.
Ways that you could help
- Leading our weekly events from BSL walks to accessible community days out across Merseyside.
- Providing 1-2-1 support to Deaf adults seeking employment or wishing to learn basic IT skills at our Wirral and Liverpool IT rooms.
- Serving drinks at Joe’s Members’ Bar.
- Supporting centre based craft activities or coffee mornings.
- Providing practice support to people learning BSL.
- Conversing with Deaf-Blind people to reduce social isolation.
- Support MSDP staff at external events to promote the work of our charity.
